Acceptable Use and Regulations

REGULATIONS

Use of the technological devices and the wireless internet service should be in keeping with the educational objectives of the department.

School use of the internet for personal activities is to be limited. 

However, the following is expressly prohibited

·   Viewing of pornographic material on the computers, tablets or personal devices while using the Department’s wireless internet connection

·  Downloading or installing software on the tablets or computers unless approved

·   Using unapproved sites to watch movies or television series on the tablets or computers

· Sharing the password for the internet wireless connection without permission

Please be aware that all websites accessed via the Department’s wireless internet network are recorded and can be reviewed at any time.

It is also possible to trace the device which would have accessed a site at a particular time. 

Software has been installed to block websites, popups and downloads deemed harmful to students.

I ............................................ have read and understand the guidelines for acceptable use of the technological devices which are the property of the Charles F Broome Memorial Primary School Special Unit.  

 I am aware that these regulations also extend to the use of my personal devices once connected to the Department’s wireless internet connection.  

I understand that failure to use them in an acceptable manner will result in a verbal warning from the Senior Teacher in Charge and further contravention can result in me being barred access to the wireless internet connection.
